Final Thoughts

There is a limited amount of information available to a foreigner seeking double eyelid surgery in Korea. The huge number of clinics, language and cultural barriers, and uncertainties with consulting a clinic from overseas can make for a pretty daunting experience.

I don’t regret undergoing double eyelid surgery with Dr Seo as I’m convinced he is a talented surgeon. That said, there are SO many options around Seoul that offer comparable english translation services and enhanced client management, compared to what I experienced at MVP. If I were to repeat my experience, I would probably have avoided placing a deposit in advance to keep my options open until meeting the doctors and clinics in person first. There is so much missing information from online forums (and blogs!) that it’s truly worthwhile to go to Korea and meet these clinics personally before depositing money and making final decisions.

It’s your body and plastic surgery is [intended to be] permanent. Therefore, I would strongly advise you to do your homework by asking tons of questions, compile notes on what’s important, and think carefully about what your want to achieve from double eyelid surgery. A qualified, skilled surgeon is paramount but I would also argue that a competent clinic team and staff are also essential to your experience and well being.

Everyone’s goals, budget, clinical features, and comfort levels are all so varied so I can’t speak for the majority. Regardless, I hope my blog adds a little insight and clarity on your journey towards whatever slice of happiness you’re striving for.
